What Happens in a Typical CWJC program?

Women receive training in life skills and job readiness. Our instructional material is customized to meet the needs of the participants and their community.

What kind of classes do you teach?

We currently offer weekly Jobs for Life®, Life Skills, Bible study and computers (depending on the needs of the participants)

What is your schedule?

Two 12 week sessions are held each year. The Spring session begins in January and the Fall session begins in August. Classes are taught on Tuesdays from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.

Does a participant have to come every week?

In order to graduate from our program, a participant must have an 85% attendance rate (miss no more than two classes).

Does a participant have to have a high school diploma or GED?

To participate in the Jobs for Life program, a participant must have a high school diploma or a GED.

Note:  Tutoring is available if a participant needs to get a GED

How much does it cost?

There is no charge to a woman who is ready to make changes in her life.

What Makes CWJC Different From Other Job Readiness Programs?

Each participant is involved in Bible study. Participants are also matched with a trained Christian woman who will be a Journey Partner as she travels the road from dependency to self-sufficiency. CWJC offers a "hand up" not a "hand out."

Does every CWJC participant get a job?

Honestly, no. CWJC is a Christian life- and job-skills training program. No woman is guaranteed employment after completing a CWJC program. Each program does strive to prepare each participant for work in her community.
